Since 2014
We started out renovating flats in Barcelona and we still do the same thing, with more trades under one roof.
Today the company has two offices in the city, eight services with a page and profile of their own — from comprehensive renovation through to electrics and heating and air conditioning — and sixteen neighbourhoods we have written about, setting out what changes when you renovate in each one.
We are not going to tell you we were born out of a calling. What you see in the work is simpler and more useful: the project is planned before it starts, the quote is itemised from the outset and, if extra work comes up mid-project, we assess it, quote for it and send it over. It is only carried out once you approve it. Never the other way round.
How one of our projects is organised
During the works you deal with two people, and you know which one to go to for what.
The site manager runs the work and the day-to-day follow-up inside the home: they coordinate the trades, decide the order each one comes in and keep you posted on how it is going. Administration handles the commercial side, the quote, purchasing and invoicing.

The best thing about working with Obrescat was feeling that there was real follow-up throughout the whole project. Nerea did a great job in the early stage, both commercially and when it came to preparing the quote, always with full transparency. Manuel then coordinated the works professionally and dealt well with the small adjustments that came up along the way.
How a project runs, from start to handover
The route is always the same, and it ends at handover: there is no routine visit weeks later, and we would rather say so than promise one.
- Visit and measurements. We measure up, check the services, courtyards, soil stacks and access, and tell you what we find.
- An itemised quote. Separate sections, with no catch-all “miscellaneous” line.
- Permits and the residents’ association. We check what is needed for the scope of the works and give the concierge and the neighbours notice when it makes sense.
- Protection and waste removal route. Entrance hall and lift protected, rubble kept under control, everything cleaned up at the end of the day.
- Phased execution. Demolition, services, waterproofing, tiling, fitting and finishing, in that order.
- Handover. Function tests, a room-by-room check and whatever documentation applies.
